Clean, dry and mold-free before rebuild
Pre-rebuild clearance testing confirms the structure is ready for new drywall, flooring and cabinets. Closing walls over wet or contaminated framing is the most common reason mold returns after a water loss.

- No visible mold growth remaining on structural surfaces after cleaning

Wet wall cavities behind dry-looking drywall
Paint can feel dry while the bottom plate and insulation stay wet. Readings inside the cavity, not on the surface, tell the real story.
Under cabinets and toe-kicks
Kitchen and vanity leaks pool under cabinet bases where fans and dehumidifiers barely reach. This is one of the most common places mold returns.
Subfloor and padding under flooring
Laminate, vinyl plank and carpet pad trap water against the subfloor. The floor looks fine until odor or cupping appears weeks later.
Adjacent rooms and the floor below
Water follows framing, plumbing chases and gravity. Rooms next to or below the loss are often wet and never opened.
Asbestos or lead in older materials

No. Origin Environmental is an independent testing firm. We document the damage before restoration and verify the results afterward so the work can be scoped and checked objectively. If you need trusted help, we can refer you to vetted, IICRC-certified restoration and remediation contractors.
A defined moisture map keeps the demolition scope accurate, mold sampling shows whether remediation is needed, and older materials may need asbestos or lead testing before they are cut out. This protects you, the crew and your insurance claim.
It is an independent check that the structure is clean, dry and free of mold before new drywall, flooring or cabinets are installed. Closing walls over wet or moldy framing is the most common reason mold comes back after a water loss.
Mold can begin growing on wet building materials within roughly 24 to 48 hours. The longer materials stay wet, the more important sampling and thorough drying become.
Materials should read at or near dry reference values for the same material in an unaffected area. We take independent readings and, where mold remediation was part of the job, perform clearance testing before walls are closed.
