Documentation That Holds Up: HOA, Multifamily and Commercial Investigations

Shared assemblies and shared responsibility raise the documentation burden. Scope, access and authorization are settled in writing first.

February 10, 2026 · 5 min read

In multifamily and commercial buildings, the question is rarely only whether a condition exists. It is which unit or assembly, which mechanical zone, and what the records already show.

Complex assignments begin with a written proposal that defines the scope, the accessible areas, the authorized contacts, and the payment or retainer arrangement. That prevents scope drift once field work starts.

Deliverables commonly include chronologies, organized site photography, moisture maps, technical summaries, and a review of prior reports, laboratory data and repair history.

Origin does not make insurance-coverage decisions, offer legal opinions, issue engineering conclusions, or provide medical causation opinions. The report documents conditions and evidence so the parties who do make those decisions have something reliable to work from.

Scope of services

Origin evaluates building and environmental conditions. It does not diagnose illness, determine individual medical risk, make insurance-coverage decisions, provide legal opinions, or issue engineering conclusions.
